Based in Brussels, Shir Handelsman is an interdisciplinary artist whose practice incorporates video and film, sculpture, drawing, installation, photography, and elements of music and sound— exploring their connections through projects he describes as, “surreal and absurd encounters.” His solo exhibitions include presentations at the Herzliya Museum of Contemporary Art; The Jerusalem Artist House, Art Claims Impulse, Berlin, and numerous group exhibitions and film festivals, including, Kunsthal Charlottenborg, Copenhagen; Gyeonggi Museum of Modern Art, Ansan, Korea; Museum of Fine Arts Osijek, Croatia; Out_Sight Gallery, Seoul; Art Madrid; SecondRoom, Antwerp (Belgium); Aesthetica Short Film Festival, York (UK); Video Art & Experimental Film Festival, New York. Shir received his BFA from Shenkar College’s Department of Multidisciplinary Art after graduating with honors in Literature and Philosophy from Tel Aviv University. In 2024, Shir was an artist-in residence at The International Studio & Curatorial Program (ISCP), New York.
